bonjour, gutentag, hello! this year, I have been oh so into the holiday season...maybe it is because we already started listening to holiday tunes at work...but I am excited about gift giving + holiday decor + toasty drinks + sweaters!! I came across these lovely sweaters that (hint hint) that I am pretty positive I need in my life...especially since the winter time is so drab.

As I mentioned earlier, at ICFF hastens was actually making one of their mattresses on the floor, so their mattress extraordinaire let me give it a try...so, I am now a mattress extraordinaire. I bet you didn't see that coming. harr har :)

The inside of the mattresses are layered with wool and horse hair, then the outside is hand stitched. oh goodness.

Last Night was the our opening reception for "Second House" the work of Harry Bates from 1960-70. Adam works for Harry and Paul at Bates Masi Architects. Harry is the sweetest person in the world, and as a lovely little southern accent- we love him, it is hard not to! His niece Fairfax came up for the show (she is from Memphis!) and we had quite a turn out- it was fantastic! Hard work paid off!

Show will be up until June 2 @ Sylvester & Co. at Home. yaaayaah!

I have the most amazing friends and family, and I got to see them all (well most of them) in the same place at the same time. Getting married is awesome-I would highly recommend it to anyone, but make sure you have your other half figured out first! Saturday was easily one of the best and most memorable experiences of my life. I loved every second of our wedding...tornado sirens and all :)

And no wedding is complete without Elvis...

Saturday was so full of love I am still beaming about it...people came from all over to be a part of our day..even with the terrible storms that were taking place, which meant so much to us and made it even that much more special. So thank you everyone!! We love you all so much!

So I guess I am officially a Jordan, well, Jordan Jordan :)

once upon a time, adam and I stumbled into the land of Kates Paperie in SOHO and discovered paper-love. Now, we both love paper goods, who doesn't? But I was in paper flower heaven! The store is decked out in these beautiful paper flowers that I fell in love with...because they are in beautiful colors...YOU GUESSED IT yellow and grey! oh goodness! I automatically thought of wedding wonders. So I figured it was some sort of kit they sold, no- they hired an amazing paper artist to create these beautiful works of art- Zoe Bradley. Bummed that I couldnt have them, I went home and googled. It turns out, she is awesome.

whats new, what IS NEW? WELLLLL I started a new job, and got pretty flowers, and coocoo for keiki puffs is gone.

for valentines day I got a beautiful display of red roses from my wonderful husband and they look fabulous on our table....we also went out to get pizza at WORLD PIE, i love pizza. he is the best, way better than any other husbands in the universe, but maybe i am a little biased :) harhar.

MONDAY, I packed up our little puppy friend coocoo for keiki puffs (thats his new nickname we gave him) and took him back home. he was so excited when we pulled up. I have to admit, I think adam and i both grew a little attached to coocoo...we both find ourselves looking for him even though he is gone. Nonetheless, we decided it is not time for us to have a little puppy of our own, maybe one day!

now, two weeks ago i had to make a very hard decision...which ended in me leaving my job for a new opportunity which i am very very excited about. I have only worked one day so far but I can tell it is going to be a great work environment...and everyone there seems cool and has some sort of artistic background. One thing I love is that they focus on everyone's strengths which makes their business stronger. So, I now work for Sylvester and Co. at Home which is a lovely little store in amagansett, ny. It was featured in Apartment Therapy a couple of years back, here are some of their photos from the article, which you can read here.

Nice, yes? the company is extremely dynamic and I am really excited about all of the opportunities it has in store for me. so that is that.

In other news, i have the day off today and am going to reorganize our closets while listening to GAGA. i bought the cd, it has 22 songs on it. yesssssssss, i like gaga. I took this picture from the lady gaga blog, look at her-how stylish. dont judge me haah.

a winter walk.

i love this snowman, my neighbors made him today, he just looks as if he is going "oh goodness look at all this snow!! oui oui!!" making him the perfect addition to my oh goodness blog...this morning i woke up and what to my wandering eyes should appear, but tons and tons of snow outside my window! it is the perfect day to snuggle up next to a fireplace and drink hot cocoa...too bad i dont have a fireplace! we have five inches so far today and it is still coming down. the schools have all been let out for the day and kids are sledding down the hill at the high school! after meeting my wonderful husband for lunch today it was time for me and little keiki to go for a walk...although the snow can be so annoying at times, i have to admit it really adds to the charm of sag harbor. here are a few photos from our walk today...

isnt sag harbor just beautiful flocked in snow?? i love the historic charm, the picket fences, and the big trees that canopy over the streets. i'm not saying that i love it here, but i can appreciate its old school charm. little keiki loved the snow...oui oui!

i think its about time to bite the bullet and purchase some outdoor weather boots, i fell twice today and slipped numerous times. my cute fashionable winter boots are just not doing the trick...i need some traction! adam and i are really diggin' tretorn brand boots.

happy birthday to my dear dear friends sarah and jennifer!! sarah's birthday was on sunday and jennifer's birthday is tomorrow. i love them both oh so much and wish them the very best birthday week!! my friends are adorable, look at how cute they are:sarah is now a big ole 23 year old, and lives in colorado...doing cool colorado stuff. after school she moved to philadelphia for a while for a job and now she is a mountain lover. she was my roomie in college and is pretty much the main person responsible for adam and me getting together. i love her, she is amazing and an extremely talented graphic designer/advertising extraordinaire! i love this spread she designed at her last internship...

jennifer is celebrating her 24th birthday tomorrow! she is an incredible person and is going to CAMBODIA on valentines day to work with and share the gospel with girls who are victims of sex trafficking. god has given her this amazing opportunity to use her design background to help the daughters of cambdia create and sell products to help support them and give these girls more opportunities in their lives. i am so proud of her and excited for this 3 month adventure she is taking. please pray for her...and visit her blog here!

i am so blessed to have such incredible and talented friends like sarah and jennifer, i dont get to see them very often, but i am so proud of them for following their hearts taking on life's adventures. they really are awesome people, and i always love hearing about what they are up to....muah! love you guys!!!! happy birthday!

WELL, an odd series of events, a mutual friend, and FATE brought this dynamic duo together! Adam Jordan and Jordan Kaltwasser met in the computer lab at school after Adam FINALLY got the guts to come up and introduce himself (he printed something three times just to walk by her)! They went out for pizza, moved pass the name thing, and after over a year of long distance dating, he showed up in Savannah one weekend and proposed on the beach, where they had their first kiss. Life is an adventure, and these two are ready tackle it together!

As an architect and designer, our wedding is a great opportunity to combine our design aesthetics. It is important to us that the style of the wedding have an edgy and modern flair. Location is everything, as we want to wow our guest with the perfect romantic backdrop for the evening. Most of all we just want the whole day to be FUN and unique...packed with love! We cant wait to celebrate with the ones we love!

Where Jordan might say going in a hot air balloon or to outer space, Adam would say traveling together and exploring new cities...lets face it, we love an adventure! but, the truth is our perfect day is just spending time together and relaxing...we work on different days, so hanging out, whether it is going into the city and having fun, or just hanging out on the couch watching movies...we find perfection in that!

we had a mini lost kickoff party tonight to celebrate the season premire of the lost. i was not a former lost fan, but adam, along with all of his buddies, is obsessed...he has been counting down the days until he finds "answers" to where last season left everyone hanging. i have done my homework to catch up and figure out everything that is going on (i think am following pretty well!). tonight i surprised adam with lost goodies! when he walked in the door there was dharma foods and lost cookies...yay for theme parties, even if it is only for two :)

if you ever happen to wander into the village of bridgehampton, you should certainly stop at the Candy Kitchen...a few doors down from my work place...it is the most charming little soda pop ice cream parlor and eatery in town, and from what i hear it is quite the celebrity hot spot in the summertime. i love that i can just call them up and order a grilled cheese and tomato sandwhich that is oh so gooey and divine, then just walk over and pick it up! the milkshakes look delicious but i have not been able to bring myself to consume those calories, maybe some other time.

i love a bargain. there is nothing like walking to the register with something that is already cut down to a great price, only to find that it is half that! and that is what happend with these fabulous yellow pants, 8 dollars at the gap!

mine look similar to these, but have these really awesome buttons on the pockets, i am thinking it will look great with navy blue and bring some sunshine into this deary long island winter.

this was only one beam of light in a fabulous day...today i also got to leave work early, it was above 30 degrees and full of sunshine, we are having lentils for dinner (yum!), AND the bachelor comes on tonight. god is good!

woof woof.
meet keiki. adam and i will be babysitting him for the next two weeks for my boss while they are at the world furniture market in las vegas. he is a havanese, which apparently used to be circus dogs in spain, or so i am told.
keiki is probably the most spoiled rotten "dog" we have ever met. he only eats organic food that his mom specially cooks up for him and he goes on about a billion walks a day. trust me, he has no problem reminding us when it is time to do something for him. he stomps his little paws goes "huff huff, excuse me!" until you pay attention to him.
today we recieved his crate and three little suitcases which included his 27 separately prepared meals of steamed carrots and greenbeans, mini turkey burgers, and roasted chicken. after dinner he puts on his little red coat for his after "post meal walk" then he returns home to get his organic chewy bone....tonight he decided it would be a good idea to hide it under my pillow instead of eating it.
looks like we have an interesting two weeks ahead of us...!

today work took me and my boss into the city to visit three of our clients apartments, which was a really exciting and new experience for me. every time i visit new york i leave amazed...i see something new every time i go. this time, not only did i see my boss work her interior design magic, but i also got to experience three very different styles of apartments in the city. the first was pretty standard, simple, but neat...the second a huge modernized four bedroom apartment, and the third a prewar apartment in desperate need of renovation...I met painters and cabinet makers and went to eat at this diner on 90th street with massive burgers. today was fun, i think new york is growing on me.

two month review.

the past two months have been quite the whirlwind for us. lets see...getting married, moving to long island, starting a new job. it is has been quite a lot for me to take in, but I am certainly not complaining, adam and I have had a fun time in the process.

eloped.
one of the most surreal and serendipitous days of my life was the day adam and i got married in sag harbor, december 4, 2009, one week after our long voyage from tennessee to new york! we put on our dress clothes, marched down to the marina park and got hitched in front of adam's coworkers at batesmasi +architects. adam looked adorable in his suit and converse shoes, and i took the opportunity to strut my fabulous red heels. shortly after the little ceremony by the water, we went to the american hotel for drinks, then ran to catch the jitney for a lovely weekend honeymoon in the big city. although i have few photos, it was unforgettable and full of love.

blizzard.
shortly after the wedding, a storm came a brewin' and the hamptons received record snow fall, two feet in one night...ridiculous. now, being a southern girl, i am not too snow savvy, but after many family vacations to colorado i have seen quite a bit of snow in my life...never have i seen it accumulate this fast...there was nothing on the ground the day before. we were literally snowed in...the poor bug was nothing but a white mound. I quickly determined snow and i will never be friends.

christmas.
this year we had our first christmas away from our families due to our work schedules, but had a wonderful time celebrating together. adam's mom sent us a baby live christmas tree which we decorated with tiny ornaments and a paper angel. even though we missed sharing holiday cheer with our loved ones we still had fun decorating a gingerbread house, eating a big turkey feast with cranberry sauce, and opening presents! adam gets so excited on christmas morning...we had so much fun.

on that note we are having a great time together, but miss everyone very much. thats all the updates for today. love, adam and jordan
